About The Position

The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing safe, engaging, and effective swim lessons for residents of all ages and skill levels within the HOA community. The instructor promotes water safety, develops swimming skills, and creates a positive learning environment while ensuring compliance with all pool rules and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum age of 16 years (or as required by state law).
  • Current Swim Instructor certification (AEA, WSI, or equivalent).
  • Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
  • Strong swimming proficiency and knowledge of aquatic safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual and group swim lessons for children, teens, and adults.
  • Assess participant skill levels and develop lesson plans appropriate for age and ability.
  • Teach water safety, stroke development, breathing techniques, and aquatic confidence.
  • Monitor swimmers during lessons to ensure safety and adherence to pool regulations.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and participant progress records.
  • Communicate with parents and participants regarding goals, progress, and recommendations.
  • Assist with scheduling lessons and coordinating aquatics programs.
  • Support HOA aquatic events, swim clinics, and recreational programming as needed.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, stored, and utilized safely.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and administer first aid/CPR when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming pool environment.
