About The Position

At Goldfish Swim School, we are looking for individuals with a passion for helping others and a fin-tastic personality to join our team. While prior experience in teaching or lifeguarding is not required, a strong swimming ability and a commitment to our core values are essential. This role offers part-time hours with a set weekly schedule and a clear growth track for skill development and career advancement. We pride ourselves on providing top-notch swim lessons and creating a positive environment for both our students and employees.

Requirements

• Ability to swim.

• Availability for set groups of lessons (no half-shifts or mid-shifts).
• Ability to arrive 15 minutes before swim lessons start for setup and pre-shift meetings.
• Ability to work the same part-time scheduled days every week.
• Patience and genuineness in teaching individual swimmers.
• Communication skills to work with children, parents, and team members.
• Ability to perform quality work and represent Goldfish Swim School's mission.
• Integrity, compassion, and trust in decision-making and interactions.
• Ability to meet and exceed expectations to create a golden experience.

Responsibilities

• Preparing class materials and reviewing lesson themes for each swim lesson.
• Teaching up to 4 swimmers per class (or 6 for infant/parent-and-me lessons) through a structured curriculum of water safety, swim, and swimplay skills.
• Conducting 30-minute lessons consecutively for a 4-hour shift.
• Communicating student progress and celebrating accomplishments with parents and caregivers.
• Performing lifeguarding duties and supervising lessons as needed.
• Guiding new swimmers through their progression in the swim program.
