About The Position
We're hiring a Sweeper Scrubber Operator to join our facility maintenance team in Joliet, IL. In this role, you'll operate an industrial sweeper scrubber machine that combines sweeping and wet scrubbing in a single pass to keep our facility floors clean, safe, and compliant with company standards. This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, is comfortable operating powered equipment, and wants a consistent daytime schedule with weekends off.
Requirements
- Prior experience operating a sweeper, scrubber, or similar industrial cleaning equipment preferred (training may be provided)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working in a warehouse or industrial environment
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine equipment checks
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods
- Must be able to lift up to 25–50 lbs occasionally
Responsibilities
- Operate a ride-on or walk-behind sweeper scrubber to clean warehouse, production, or facility floors
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections
- Refill water, detergent, and cleaning solutions as needed
- Empty debris hoppers and maintain machine cleanliness
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs
- Follow all safety protocols, including pedestrian and forklift traffic awareness
- Maintain clean, dry, and hazard-free walkways and work areas
- Complete daily cleaning logs or checklists as required
