About The Position

The STAR (Software Tracking Acquisition and Replication) team is responsible for managing third party engineering off the shelf software licenses within the IT Product Development Organization for business-critical departments (Product Creation, Manufacturing, etc.). We interface daily with external suppliers, and internal teams such as, business IT, IT Contracts, Ford Global Technologies Limited, Purchasing, Office of General Counsel, Finance, and internal business in multiple departments, globally. In this position, you will manage a global portfolio of third-party software licenses supporting Product Development, Manufacturing, and other business functions. You will partner with IT, business teams, vendors, Contracts, Finance, and Purchasing to manage software requirements, contracts, negotiations, quotes, and purchase orders. You will also manage annual business planning, budget setting, forecasting, and ongoing spend for the software portfolio. Additionally, you will oversee internal billing, license allocations, supplier invoice reconciliation, and invoice processing support. You will monitor license usage and identify opportunities to optimize software investments, improve utilization, and reduce costs. Finally, you will drive strategic initiatives that strengthen vendor relationships, improve operational efficiency, and maximize value for the Company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in software procurement, budgeting, business planning, or finance.
  • Experience with software procurement, contract management, amendments, and renewals.
  • Experience tracking software license usage, forecasting, and managing day-to-day spending.
  • Experience conducting monthly financial reviews and supporting budget planning activities.

Responsibilities
