About The Position

As a SVP, Wealth Strategy, you will be responsible for leading business unit strategy for Orion Wealth Management’s wealth product, platform, and advisor experience organization. This role defines the strategic agenda, investment priorities, roadmap, and growth opportunities that shape Orion’s wealth offering across investment products, wealth solutions, platform capabilities, advisor experiences, and supporting operating foundations. Reporting to the EVP, Wealth Management Product and Platform, this position serves as the senior strategy leader responsible for connecting Orion’s business objectives, advisor needs, market trends, product economics, and platform capabilities into a cohesive business unit strategy. The SVP, Wealth Strategy leads the Wealth Product Strategy team and partners closely with product management, platform experience, investments, technology, operations, sales, marketing, finance, legal/compliance, and executive leadership. This role focuses on enterprise-level strategic priorities for the Wealth business, including product and platform unification, revenue growth, pricing and economics optimization, strategic roadmap prioritization, business case development, competitive positioning, product rationalization, and investment in foundational capabilities that make Orion’s wealth ecosystem more scalable, differentiated, and easier for advisors to adopt. It is anticipated that an incumbent in this role will work as a Hybrid employee, with three (3) or more days each week required on-site at one of the listed office locations. Candidates should be located within a commutable distance to an office. Internal candidates currently aligned to an Orion office location may be given preference; however, internal candidates with varying work arrangements may be considered based on experience and business needs. Work location is subject to change based on business needs.

Requirements

  • Has enterprise-level strategic thinking with the ability to connect market dynamics, advisor needs, product economics, platform capabilities, operating constraints, and financial outcomes into a clear business strategy
  • Has strong commercial orientation, including experience driving revenue growth, pricing strategy, profitability improvement, product rationalization, and investment prioritization
  • Has deep understanding of wealth management, advisor platforms, managed accounts, investment products, wealth solutions, financial technology, distribution models, and advisor business economics
  • Has exceptional executive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to create board-ready materials and influence senior leaders through clear, data-driven recommendations
  • Has proven ability to lead cross-functional strategy work in a matrixed environment, drive alignment, evaluate trade-offs, and move complex initiatives from concept to execution
  • Has strong analytical discipline and experience with business cases, scenario modeling, market sizing, pricing analysis, financial performance metrics, and KPI frameworks
  • Has high judgment, intellectual curiosity, leadership presence, and ability to build a strategy function that improves the quality and speed of business decision-making
  • Has a minimum of a bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, or related advanced degree/designation preferred
  • Has minimum of 15+ years of relevant experience in wealth management, asset management, product strategy, platform strategy, corporate strategy, strategic finance, consulting, fintech, broker-dealer, TAMP, or RIA environments
  • Has experience leading strategy for a business unit, product organization, platform business, or large-scale transformation initiative within financial services strongly preferred
  • Has demonstrated track record building strategic roadmaps, leading cross-functional executive initiatives, developing business cases, optimizing economics, and managing senior stakeholders
  • Owns and manages relationships with stakeholders directly and works effectively with people at all levels in an organization

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the business unit strategy for Orion Wealth Management, aligning product, platform, investment, service, and operating priorities to overall growth objectives
  • Establish and maintain a cohesive strategic roadmap across wealth products, platform capabilities, advisor experiences, proprietary and third-party solutions, and foundational operating capabilities
  • Lead strategic planning, prioritization, and investment decision-making for high-impact initiatives, including new product opportunities, platform unification, pricing optimization, product rationalization, and new revenue opportunities
  • Oversee competitive intelligence, market research, advisor insights, financial modeling, and business case development to ensure strategic recommendations are grounded in rigorous analysis and clear commercial logic
  • Partner with executive leadership, product management, platform experience, investments, sales, operations, technology, finance, marketing, legal/compliance, and service teams to align on strategic priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans
  • Translate business strategy into executive-level recommendations, board-ready materials, operating plans, success metrics, and governance routines that support disciplined execution
  • Lead, develop, and scale the Wealth Strategy team, building a high-performing function known for strategic clarity, analytical rigor, executive influence, and measurable business impact
