About The Position

Flourish is building the future of youth mental healthcare, providing comprehensive, team-based care for children, adolescents, and young adults with serious mental health conditions. Each patient is supported by an integrated care team including a child psychiatrist, therapist, patient guide, and family guide. By combining exceptional clinicians with thoughtfully designed technology, Flourish aims to make high-quality specialty mental healthcare more accessible, effective, and scalable. This role is for an SVP of Operations responsible for building and leading the operational organization to enable national scaling while preserving the quality, culture, and humanity of Flourish's care. As a member of the senior leadership team, the SVP will ensure the company's operational infrastructure scales ahead of growth. The operational organization will encompass People Operations, Clinical Operations, Licensing & Compliance, Credentialing, Patient Acquisition, and Payer Operations. These functions are critical for hiring exceptional people, launching and supporting care teams, entering new markets, operating compliantly, and ensuring accurate payment for services. This is an organizational leadership role focused on developing leaders, establishing accountability, and creating operating systems that strengthen with company growth. The SVP will partner closely with the CEO and leaders across Clinical, Growth, Product, Finance, and Strategy to anticipate future needs, identify constraints, and translate company strategy into operational capability. Key areas of focus include: People Operations: Leading the People Operations organization through a Director, focusing on recruiting, onboarding, manager development, fostering culture, and building people systems for rapid growth. Ensuring the people strategy stays ahead of company growth. Clinical Operations: Ensuring clinical teams have the necessary operational infrastructure to deliver exceptional care at scale. This includes practice management, clinician onboarding, carepod support, and performance metrics. The goal is to support an increasing number of carepods, patients, states, and health-plan relationships without unnecessary operational complexity. Licensing, Compliance & Credentialing: Overseeing these functions to operate proactively, anticipate expansion, identify regulatory risks, and build scalable systems to avoid constraints on patient access or market expansion. Payer Operations: Ensuring health-plan contracts translate into reliable operational and financial performance, scaling alongside patient census, payer portfolio, and geographic footprint. Patient Acquisition: Overseeing the Patient Acquisition team, responsible for KPIs related to patient acquisition, including monthly admissions growth and timely access to care. Building the Operations Organization: Evolving the organizational structure as Flourish grows, potentially including additional leadership layers. The responsibility is to build an organization with the leadership, systems, accountability, and operating cadence for successful scaling.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including significant responsibility for complex operational organizations
  • Experience scaling operations at a high-growth startup or similarly fast-growing organization, ideally through multiple stages of company growth
  • Experience leading multiple functions and senior functional leaders, with a demonstrated ability to build an effective leadership bench
  • Exceptional people leadership, including a track record of developing managers into leaders and leaders into executives
  • Strong organizational design instincts and the ability to evolve structures, roles, and accountability as a company grows
  • Excellent operational judgment, with the ability to identify bottlenecks, simplify complexity, and distinguish root causes from symptoms
  • Highly analytical and data-driven, with strong business intuition and a habit of using metrics to understand and improve organizational performance
  • Demonstrated ability to translate company strategy and growth plans into operational requirements, capabilities, and execution
  • Comfortable moving between long-term strategy and hands-on problem-solving in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding executive communication skills and the ability to build trust and influence effectively across functions
  • Strong project and program management discipline, particularly across complex, cross-functional initiatives
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare experience is highly valuable, particularly experience scaling multi-state clinical operations.
  • Experience in healthcare operations strongly preferred, particularly in multi-state environments involving clinical operations, licensing, compliance, credentialing, or payer operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure licensing, compliance, and credentialing operate proactively and do not become constraints on patient access or market expansion.
  • Ensure payer operations scale alongside growing patient census, payer portfolio, and geographic footprint.
  • Oversee the Patient Acquisition team, responsible for company KPIs related to patient acquisition.
  • Evolve the organizational structure under this role as Flourish grows, potentially including additional leadership layers.
  • Build an organization with the leadership, systems, accountability, and operating cadence necessary to scale well beyond today's company.
