About The Position

Morning Consult is building the world's most trusted, AI-powered decision intelligence platform, serving global enterprises, financial services institutions, and professional services firms that operate in complex, high-stakes environments. We are seeking an VP, Head of Sales to lead the go-to-market organization behind Morning Consult Intelligence — our always-on, subscription intelligence business. This is a ~$30-40M business growing 20-30% annually, and it is genuinely a startup within a startup: fast-growing, still building its own management layer and international footprint, and in need of an operator who can scale it rather than simply sell it. You'll directly lead and grow our Account Executive team (currently ~12, with room to grow further), owning new-logo acquisition and the full sales cycle for our subscription intelligence products. You'll report directly to Jocelyn Powers, and you'll be the sales counterpart to Daria Averbach, SVP of Customer Success: you own the deal until it's signed, and her organization owns the client relationship, expansion, and renewal from there. Clean handoff between the two of you is critical to how this business scales. This is not a role for a great individual closer looking for a bigger title. We need a genuine operator who has built and scaled sales teams before — someone who can walk in, professionalize a sales motion that has grown organically, build real sales management underneath themselves, and personally get on airplanes to stand up new markets (UK now, with Singapore and Australia realistic next steps). You'll be judged on the team and the system you build, not on how many personal units you can close. You'll be selling a genuinely AI-native product: proprietary, always-on intelligence data delivered directly into a client's own AI environment via platform, API, or MCP. Fluency in translating that differentiation into a scalable, repeatable sales motion — and in building a team that can sell it consistently — matters more here than any one person's individual closing ability.

Requirements

A genuine operator who has built and scaled a subscription or SaaS sales organization from the ground up — someone who can point to teams they built and a process they professionalized, not just units they personally closed
5+ years of sales leadership experience, including direct people management of a growing Account Executive team
Experience building sales capability in new international markets — you have personally stood up or scaled a team outside your home market before
A track record of forecasting and pipeline discipline at a business of comparable or growing scale (~$20M+)
Comfort with travel, including international travel, as a necessary part of building this business
A strong personal network of sales talent you can recruit from
Fluency with modern sales tooling (Salesforce or equivalent) and with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT) as part of your own daily workflow
Strong executive presence — credible with global enterprise buyers and equally credible coaching a first-year AE

Responsibilities

Own the $30-40M Morning Consult Intelligence revenue target, sustaining the business's 20-30% annual growth rate
Directly manage and coach the Account Executive team (~12 today, growing), and build the first real layer of sales management underneath yourself as the team outgrows what one person can run directly
Rationalize reporting lines and territory assignments across the team — today's structure has grown organically and unevenly, and part of this role is bringing order to it
Build genuinely scalable sales infrastructure: a repeatable process, onboarding, and enablement that gets a full team selling consistently well, not one built around a handful of star performers
Personally lead international expansion — travel to build and stand up sales capability in the UK now, with Singapore, Australia, and other markets as realistic next steps; this role should expect to spend meaningful time on airplanes
Own forecasting and pipeline discipline in Salesforce, delivering reliable, defensible numbers to the CRO and executive team
Own account and territory segmentation — ensure sellers are aligned to the highest-value opportunities (for example, a full corporate/financial-institution territory rather than an artificially narrow slice of it) and that key accounts get senior attention
Champion and personally model the use of AI tools (Claude, Bellhop) across the sales org — for account research, pipeline analysis, and proposal generation — and own the sales narrative around data connected directly into a client's AI environment via MCP and API
Partner closely with Daria Averbach's Customer Success organization to ensure a clean handoff on every signed deal and to identify expansion opportunities within existing accounts, including expansion into new countries and markets for existing multinational clients
Partner with Marketing on top-of-funnel demand and with Product on translating new platform and AI capabilities into a sellable pitch
Hire and develop a leadership bench, bringing your own network of proven sales talent to the team
Represent Morning Consult Intelligence externally with key global clients and prospects
