About The Position

The Senior Vice President, Financial Services has executive responsibility for WPCU’s consumer and commercial lending, commercial treasury services and investment services. The SVP partners with the executive team to ensure the strategic vision of the credit union is developed with consideration for the borrowing needs of consumers, financial services needs of business and the risks involved and proactively manages the risks to the organization.

  • Develops and approves strategies and plans that optimize performance and delivers extraordinary service to members and Partners in the primary areas of responsibility.
  • Fosters collaboration across lending, commercial treasury services, and investment services.
  • Provides executive oversight of consumer, mortgage and commercial lending originations, commercial deposits, MRB business offerings and investment services.
  • Coordinates and directs WPCU’s consumer, commercial and retail mortgage lending activities.
  • Maximizes growth of the loan portfolio, while maintaining the appropriate risk appetite, through effective planning, development, and implementation of lending strategies.
  • Coordinates and directs WPCU’s commercial treasury services and maximizes growth of the deposit portfolio through effective planning, development, and implementation of deposit strategies.
  • Oversees management of the commercial lending operating system.
  • Coordinates and directs all activity of the investment services team.
  • Leverages technology and automation to deliver superior and seamless solutions.
  • Effectively coordinate all consumer and business facing business lines to maximize referral opportunities and deepen relationships with members.
  • Oversee the creation and management of the budget and staffing plan for respective areas of responsibility.
  • Assess income generation, expense reduction opportunities and addresses budget variances as appropriate.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, appraising performance of partners within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Organize, mentor, coach, observe and guide Partners through training, coaching and feedback.
  • Develops and prepares subordinates for advancement.
  • Serves as a member of the Enterprise Risk Management Team, Products & Pricing Team, Credit Policy Team, and other committees/working groups as assigned.
  • Manages vendor relationships, including: Involvement in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting vendors. Participation in the negotiating of contracts with potential vendors to ensure optimal pricing and mitigation of third-party risks. Ongoing monitoring of vendors (of both performance and reputation) to ensure they provide quality products and services in alignment with organizational goals.

  • Fosters collaboration across our lending, commercial treasury services, and investment services to deliver comprehensive and innovative solutions to commercial and consumer members.
  • Provides executive oversight of consumer, mortgage and commercial lending originations, commercial deposits, MRB business offerings and investment services.
  • Coordinates and directs WPCU’s consumer, commercial and retail mortgage lending activities to deliver high levels of member satisfaction through both partner-employees and digital solutions.
  • Maximizes growth of the loan portfolio, while maintaining the appropriate risk appetite, through effective planning, development, and implementation of lending strategies.
  • Coordinates and directs WPCU’s commercial treasury services and maximizes growth of the deposit portfolio through effective planning, development, and implementation of deposit strategies, including leveraging lending relationships attract ample deposits to maintain an appropriate loan-to-share ratio.
  • Oversees management of the commercial lending operating system and ensures it is sufficient to meet member lending demands in a manner that balances risk and return.
  • Coordinates and directs all activity of the investment services team to provide members with investment services, retirement solutions and college planning.
  • Leverages technology and automation to deliver superior and seamless solutions to partner-employees and members.
  • Effectively coordinate all consumer and business facing business lines to maximize referral opportunities and deepen relationships with members.
  • Oversee the creation and management of the budget and staffing plan for respective areas of responsibility. Assess income generation, expense reduction opportunities and addresses budget variances as appropriate.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, appraising performance of partners within assigned areas of responsibility.
