About The Position

The SVP, Business Architecture & Solutions is a senior leader within the Transformation & Delivery Office (TDO), responsible for leading the business architecture, business analysis, and business systems support functions that enable Commercial Insurance’s strategic transformation agenda. This role translates complex business goals into well-designed business solutions and system interactions, while establishing patterns that improve the capability, flexibility, and long-term effectiveness of IT platforms. The role also provides leadership on business requirements, solution design, and pre-production testing activities that support successful delivery before systems go live. The title and career band/level for this position are flexible based on the candidate’s experience.

Guides teams in designing business solutions
Ensures business users and program teams receive effective support for core systems
Connects business systems support, business analysis, and business architecture
Establishes consistent practices for evaluating business system needs, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting operational continuity
Defines repeatable business and solution patterns
Promotes designs that improve flexibility, reduce unnecessary complexity, and enable future product and platform evolution
Ensures solution designs support business agility and can adapt to changing priorities, regulatory needs, and operating model requirements
Partners with Quality Assurance and program teams
Provides leadership on business-focused testing activities

Responsibilities

Lead the business architecture function for the TDO, defining business capabilities, operating patterns, and solution design approaches that support strategic programs and platform modernization priorities.

Define repeatable business and solution patterns that improve how systems support underwriting, operations, and other core commercial insurance capabilities.
Promote designs that improve flexibility, reduce unnecessary complexity, and enable future product and platform evolution.
Ensure solution designs support business agility and can adapt to changing priorities, regulatory needs, and operating model requirements.
Partner with Quality Assurance and program teams to ensure business requirements and solution designs support effective testing before production.
Provide leadership on business-focused testing activities, including validation of business scenarios, review of expected outcomes, and support for pre-production readiness.
Help ensure new systems and enhancements are sufficiently validated from a business process and business outcome perspective prior to go-live.
Work with delivery teams to identify issues discovered during testing and help drive resolution of business design gaps before deployment.
Serve as the senior leader for business architecture and solutions within the TDO, partnering with executive leadership and key stakeholders to align solution designs with strategic objectives.
Communicate clearly with business and technology leaders on solution direction, design trade-offs, business impacts, and readiness considerations.
Build and lead a high-performing team culture focused on quality, clarity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support the broader TDO mission by helping shape better ways of working across program delivery, solution design, governance, and transformation execution.
