About The Position

The Sustainability Specialist will play a key role in advancing Caliber's sustainability initiatives, focusing on fleet transition planning, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction, and supplier engagement for accurate GHG reporting. This role involves collaborating with internal teams and external partners to develop and implement strategies that align with regulatory requirements and enhance environmental performance.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, business, or a related field is generally required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with carbon accounting platforms (Persefoni experience preferred)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical and data management skills
  • Project management experience or aptitude
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. with no restrictions.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of California environmental regulations is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assess and enhance Caliber’s current fleet transition plan for California, in alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with our fleet management partner (Enterprise) to develop a detailed, year-by-year transition roadmap with clear targets.
  • Partner with our energy utilization management company (Crete/ProStar) to evaluate ongoing HVAC and thermostat efficiency projects.
  • Analyze preliminary data from a T-Stat “set point” pilot in Tucson and help develop a scalable rollout plan across applicable facilities.
  • Work with Caliber’s supply chain and ESG teams to onboard key suppliers into the Persefoni carbon accounting platform.
  • Support transition from spend-based to activity-based emissions reporting and assess the impact on overall GHG inventory accuracy.
