About The Position

We are seeking a Sustainability Solutions Analyst to help enterprise real estate clients establish, manage, and improve sustainability and compliance-reporting programs within the KODE platform. This role combines sustainability and real estate knowledge with hands-on client delivery. The individual will configure client sustainability accounts, organize and validate portfolio data, establish baselines and targets, support emissions and certification tracking, and prepare accurate, traceable information for reporting programs such as GRESB and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM). The successful candidate will be comfortable leading day-to-day client work, answering challenging sustainability and data questions, and managing deliverables with support from KODE’s product, engineering, data, implementation, and customer success teams. They will also translate recurring client needs into practical recommendations that improve the platform and delivery process.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, environmental compliance, energy management, commercial real estate, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience working with commercial real estate data and supporting multi-building or enterprise portfolios.
• Hands-on experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, including property setup, meter and property mapping, data review, benchmarking, and issue resolution.
• Experience supporting GRESB Real Estate reporting, data collection, validation, evidence preparation, or submission readiness.
• Working knowledge of energy, water, waste, and emissions data; organizational and operational boundaries; baselines; targets; benchmarking; and portfolio performance tracking.
• Understanding of greenhouse gas accounting principles, emission factors, Scope 1 and Scope 2 reporting, and relevant Scope 3 categories for real estate.
• Familiarity with real estate sustainability and compliance frameworks such as GRESB, ENERGY STAR, CDP, local building-performance standards, and green-building certification programs.
• Experience reviewing source data, resolving gaps and inconsistencies, documenting assumptions, and maintaining a clear audit trail for reported results.
• Ability to translate complex reporting requirements and client questions into clear platform configurations, workflows, explanations, and action plans.
• Strong analytical, written, verbal, client-management, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the judgment to own deliverables while seeking support when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience implementing or supporting enterprise ESG, sustainability, energy, or real estate software.
• Experience with sustainability assurance, data controls, greenhouse gas inventories, emissions reporting, or audit-ready reporting processes.
• Familiarity with energy audits, capital planning, decarbonization roadmaps, energy conservation measures, or building-performance improvement programs.
• Experience with Excel or Google Sheets and business intelligence or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python.
• Relevant credentials or training such as GRESB AP, LEED Green Associate or LEED AP, WELL AP, ENERGY STAR training, GHG accounting training, or similar qualifications are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support client discovery, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and ongoing management of sustainability and compliance-reporting solutions.
• Translate client ESG, sustainability, regulatory, and real estate reporting requirements into platform configurations, data structures, workflows, and repeatable deliverables.
• Stand up and manage client sustainability accounts and portfolio structures, including properties, ownership details, spaces, utility accounts, meters, reporting boundaries, and required building attributes.
• Coordinate utility data ingestion and validate consumption, cost, meter mappings, coverage, completeness, and reporting-period alignment across multi-building portfolios.
• Configure and validate energy, water, waste, and greenhouse gas baselines; portfolio and property targets; benchmarking metrics; emissions factors; and progress-tracking methodologies.
• Collect and organize capital-planning inputs, energy conservation measures, decarbonization initiatives, estimated savings, implementation dates, costs, incentives, and performance results within the platform.
• Support annual GRESB reporting and ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager alignment, including property and meter mapping, data-quality reviews, benchmarking, evidence preparation, issue resolution, and reconciliation between KODE and ESPM.
• Support greenhouse gas accounting and emissions reporting, including organizational and operational boundaries, Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, applicable Scope 3 categories, emission factors, and market-based energy instruments where relevant.
• Track building certifications, ratings, awards, supporting documentation, renewal dates, and portfolio-level certification status within the platform.
• Develop clear dashboards, reports, data-quality summaries, submission-ready outputs, and recommendations for sustainability, asset-management, property-management, engineering, and executive stakeholders.
• Act as a trusted day-to-day resource for clients, respond to complex questions, manage competing priorities and deadlines, and escalate specialized issues to the appropriate internal experts.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to identify recurring reporting needs, data gaps, implementation challenges, workflow improvements, and product enhancements.
