About The Position

This seasonal role runs through December 11, 2026. We are seeking a candidate who excels in a fast-paced environment and can commit to the full duration of the season. At Breckenridge Grand Vacations, we create Grand Vacations by Sharing Smiles with every Owner, Guest, and coworker. As our Sustainability Intern, you will be the cornerstone of this mission by helping to protect the breathtaking environment that makes our guests ’experiences possible. You will dive into the heart of our operations, learning from and assisting our dedicated sustainability team to advance our efforts across every resort and office location. This role is perfect for a proactive and passionate individual who is eager to turn their enthusiasm for the planet into tangible action. You will gain hands-on experience in the full ecosystem of corporate sustainability, from recycling and composting standards to energy programs and continuing education. You will be empowered to observe, propose improvements, and help implement the practices that solidify our reputation as an industry leader in environmental stewardship. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED, plus current enrollment in a college program related to sustainability, environmental science, environmental studies, climate, energy, or a comparable field.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); comfortable with typing, PC operation, company timekeeping systems, and internet/search engine navigation.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills – able to read and interpret technical/business documents, draft clear reports and correspondence, and present information effectively to managers, clients, and the public.
  • Solid foundation in basic arithmetic (fractions, decimals) and the ability to compute ratios, percentages, discounts, interest, commissions, and proportions.
  • Practical thinker who can navigate variable situations with limited standardization and follow complex instructions across written, oral, diagram, and schedule formats.
  • Proactive self-starter with keen attention to detail; communicates constructively, gives and receives feedback with tact, remains composed under pressure, supports team morale, shares knowledge willingly, and consistently follows safety protocols (including reporting hazards).
  • Able to lift or slide 50–100 pounds (under 1/3 of the workday) and perform frequent repetitive arm/hand/finger motions.
  • Comfortable with extended periods of computer use (over 2/3 of the workday), and willing to work in-person at a pet-friendly mountain resort with occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and pet dander.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience speaking Spanish and working in a Spanish-speaking environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sustainability Department with various projects and tasks to gain practical workplace experience.
  • Learn and help advance sustainability efforts across all Breckenridge Grand Vacations resorts and office locations.
  • Observe and support sustainability staff members in their daily duties.
  • Work with the sustainability team to introduce and implement continuing education programs for current sustainability practices.
  • Attend trainings and department meetings, including GVS sessions, Sustainable Champions meetings, safety trainings, and Ops meetings.
  • Propose modifications or revisions to current practices that do not align with sustainability best practices.
