About The Position

As an intern with Textron, you’ll gain hands-on experience while exploring your interests and building new skills. You’ll be supported and challenged to contribute in meaningful ways – working on real projects alongside experienced professionals to prepare for future success. Sustainability Interns will work to operationalize sustainability through organizing events, identifying projects, conducting peer-to-peer outreach, collecting & analyzing data, and conducting research.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in: Engineering (Any Discipline), Environmental Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Sustainability or ESG (Environmental, Social, & Governance), Business Management, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer proficient
  • Analytical and planning skills coupled with the ability to multi-task
  • Builds and maintains constructive relationships
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position, including for F-1 students and J-1 exchange visitors who will need employment sponsorship.
  • Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying and supporting site sustainability improvement projects.
  • Assist with preparation of sustainability presentations.
  • Compile and evaluate sustainability data.
  • Identify site utility consumption, evaluate opportunities to reduce utility consumption and implement alternative methods to reduce utility cost and consumption.
  • Identify plausible opportunities to reduce site energy use.
