About The Position

Verdani Partners is looking for a Sustainability Coordinator who will assist our client account leads with implementing corporate sustainability programs and policies for each of our clients. They will directly help our teams in implementing policies in organizations with diversified, national, and international portfolios of buildings. This full-time position will begin with an intense 3-6 month training period. Preference will be given to candidates willing to work from our office in Carlsbad. Preference will also be given to candidates that have some educational training and experience with commercial real estate and/or corporate sustainability. This applicant would coordinate directly with clients; therefore, they must also have superior communication, writing, and presentation skills. This is an entry-level position that will require a training course, which Verdani Partners will be providing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, Majors: Sustainability, Architecture, Real Estate, Environmental Studies, Engineering, Business Admin or related field
• Excellent written, oral, and graphic communication skills
• Ability to adapt to meet the needs of clients and the company
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Interest in becoming an expert in corporate sustainability
• Ability to learn on the job
• Applicant must be authorized to work in the United States.
• This is a 40hr/week entry-level position with an expectation of at least a 1yr+ commitment.

• LEED Green Associate, LEED Accredited Professional, or GRESB AP
• Commercial real estate experience: Property Management
• Real Estate Investment and Finance
• Corporate sustainability experience
• Experience with sustainability reporting frameworks (i.e., GRESB, PRI, GRI, CDP, EcoVadis, etc.)
• Knowledge of Energy Star Portfolio Manager
• LEED for Operations and Maintenance (LEED O+M) experience
• Technical knowledge including AI platforms (e.g. CoPilot, Claude, ChatGPT) and/or software coding (e.g. SQL [Structured Query Language], Python)
• Local candidates strongly preferred.
• Preference will be given to candidates willing to work from our office in Carlsbad.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a team coordinator and client support resource across multiple sustainability consulting contracts.
• Manage schedules, deliverables, agendas, action items, and client communications.
• Coordinate ESG/Sustainability reporting initiatives, including GRESB, PRI, CDP, EcoVadis and others.
• Support sustainability program development, policy updates, annual planning, and gap analyses.
• Create, review, quality-control, and present client-facing content, including reports, presentations, trainings, and awareness campaigns.
• Administer project management systems, document repositories, collaboration platforms, and team workflows.
• Conduct and manage surveys, stakeholder engagement efforts, and data collection initiatives for clients and properties.
• Coordinate technical sustainability assessments at both portfolio and property levels.
• Analyze sustainability data and develop visualizations, summaries, and recommendations to communicate key findings for client POC.
• Perform ESG research and quality assurance to support reports, disclosures, policies, and other client deliverables.
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Verdani programs, initiatives, and internal frameworks.
• Conduct research and analysis on sustainability trends, regulations, reporting frameworks, and industry best practices to inform client services and internal Verdani strategy.
• Contribute to the development of thought leadership, guidance documents, methodologies, policies, and educational resources.
• Participate in cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution, stakeholder alignment, and adherence to quality standards.
• Serve as a subject matter resource on topics such as ESG/Sustainability reporting frameworks, sustainability regulations, and emerging industry requirements.
• Facilitate internal knowledge sharing, training programs, workshops, and professional development initiatives.
• Support business operations and organizational initiatives through committee participation, process improvement, resource development, and collaboration across teams.
