Requirements

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to communicate in English.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume.
• Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions.
• Ability to resolve conflicts to create a win-win situation.
• Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through a solution, and implement the solution.
• Regularly required to stand for long periods; walk; frequently use hands; hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close and color vision.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of the Sushi department staff.
• Plan, assign, and direct work for staff.
• Engage in staff development, rewarding, and disciplining employees.
• Address complaints and resolve problems within the department.
• Oversee the selling of all related items at the Sushi counter.
• Lead by example, modeling correct behavior and adherence to company policies.
• Utilize management-provided tools to ensure department success.
• Perform all essential duties of a Sushi Clerk.
• Fill customer orders as requested.
• Prepare sushi following company instructions and recipes.
• Accurately record customer transactions and process payments.
• Assist with duties and examine work for policy compliance.
• Educate customers and staff on merchandise preparation and use.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and merchandising of Sushi and related items.
• Process purchase orders by required deadlines.
• Implement and maintain marketing programs.
• Train and develop Sushi Department employees in product knowledge, suggestive selling, merchandising, and customer service skills.
• Provide extraordinary customer service that exceeds expectations.
• Follow established policies and guidelines for customer service.
• Maintain a positive attitude, treat others with respect, and adjust to workplace changes.
