About The Position

In addition to performing all required duties of a Sushi Clerk, the Sushi Shift Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities the Sushi department staff will perform. Responsibilities include; but are not limited to, planning, assigning, and directing work; staff development, rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. The Sushi Shift Supervisor will assist in overseeing the selling of all related items at the Sushi counter. They are also responsible for carrying out the duties listed below (other duties may be assigned). Leads by example; models correct behavior and adherence to company policies and procedures. Responsible for using the tools provided by management to ensure the success of the department. Required to perform all essential duties of a Sushi Clerk. Fills customer’s orders as requested. Make sushi following company instructions & recipes as provided. Responsible for the accurate recording of customer transactions, including the acceptance of payment by the company cash register procedures. Assists with duties and examines work for compliance with policies and procedures. Must be knowledgeable of merchandise sold in the Sushi Department and educate customers and staff on the preparation and use of merchandise. Assists with ordering, receiving, and merchandising. Assists with orders of all Sushi and all related items for the department. Processes purchase orders for implementation at the required deadline. Responsible for implementing and maintaining all marketing programs. Assists in training & developing all Sushi Department employees in product knowledge, suggestive selling techniques, merchandising techniques, & customer service skills on an ongoing basis. Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, percentages, and volume
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions
  • Ability to resolve conflicts in a win-win manner
  • Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through a solution, and implement the solution
  • Regularly required to stand for long periods; walk; frequently use hands; hands to finger; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 100 pounds
