About The Position

SHOTO Washington DC is a new, sophisticated Japanese izakaya-style restaurant located in the heart of Washington D.C. The restaurant offers a contemporary twist on traditional Japanese cuisine, featuring a menu with shared plates, sushi, tempura, and robata grill items. It boasts a high-energy bar and lounge with specialty cocktails and an extensive selection of Japanese beverages. SHOTO is situated at Midtown Center, 1100 15th Street NW, Washington DC 20005, with its entrance on L Street NW.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience in similar position dealing with the public.
  • Must have a Food Handler and Responsible Vendor Certificate from the District of Columbia.
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to speak effectively before employees of the Company.

  • Lift to 50 pounds and manually push/pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment in the presence of areas containing secondhand smoke, high noise levels, dancing, bright lights and dust and communicate during this time-sometimes within a small area.
  • Stand or walk a minimum of eight-hour shift and work inside assigned bar area in the venue.
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work area.
  • Stand, stoop; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel, lift, reach with hands and arms; talk to hear and taste or smell.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
  • Work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Read, write and speak in English.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Speak effectively before employees of the Company.
