As a Sushi Clerk at Hy-Vee, you'll be a key part of our Hy-Chi department, helping fill customer orders, prepare fresh product, and keep the department running smoothly every day. Requirements
- Follow written and verbal instructions with confidence
- Use basic math skills for simple addition, subtraction, counting, and recording
- Communicate clearly with customers and teammates in a friendly, helpful way
- Stay organized and keep up with the pace of a busy department
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Food Safety Certification required
Nice To Haves
- Six months or more of similar or related experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and going the extra mile to make every visit a positive one
- Take customer orders at the counter and over the phone, and assist customers with finding products, reaching items, and carrying heavy purchases
- Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout your shift
- Prepare, finish, and replenish product as needed, pulling items from the cooler or freezer for preparation
- Follow and maintain proper sanitation procedures, keeping your work area clean and organized at all times
- Check in product, put product away, label and date items accurately, and remove trash promptly
- Anticipate daily product needs and follow or develop a production list to stay ahead
- Order product and supplies as necessary
- Work alongside your teammates to ensure a smooth, positive experience for every customer
- Maintain compliance with Hy-Vee's dress code, hygiene standards, and all company policies
- Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as needed
