About The Position

Blue Sushi Sake Grill is seeking a talented Sushi Chef to join their team at the 5th & Broadway location. This role offers competitive earnings with an average of $25-$28+ per hour, including base pay and tip out, though actual earnings may vary. While previous sushi chef experience is preferred, it's not required, as the restaurant provides a comprehensive training program for individuals with strong knife skills, attention to detail, and a desire to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and restaurant specifications.
  • Ensure the quality, freshness, proper storage, and safe handling of ingredients, including seafood, rice, produce, sauces, and garnishes.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the sushi bar and kitchen area throughout prep and service.
  • Adhere to food safety, sanitation, allergy awareness, cross-contact prevention, and raw seafood handling standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and service team members to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service.
  • Assist with daily prep, station setup, restocking, breakdown, and end-of-shift cleaning duties.
  • Assist in inventory management by communicating product levels, quality concerns, and ordering needs to leadership.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
