About The Position

Kimley-Horn’s Holly Springs, North Carolina office is seeking a Surveyor in Training (SIT) with 5+ years of experience to join its Survey team. The role uses AutoCAD Civil 3D and field information to prepare survey maps, exhibits, legal descriptions, and boundary analyses. The position calls for strong communication and technical skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• In the process of obtaining SIT certification or already SIT certified.
• Working knowledge of Civil 3D.
• Prior relevant experience; the overview specifies 5+ years of experience.
• Strong communication and technical skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.

Responsibilities

• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and other survey-related maps or exhibits.
• Research boundary and easement title documents and perform boundary analysis.
• Use field crew data files (points), field sketches, photos, and reference maps to create surveys.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, acquisition parcels, and related matters.
• Perform additional responsibilities and/or duties as assigned.
