This role focuses on managing survey operations, leading project teams, overseeing project delivery, and ensuring quality standards are met. The Survey Manager is responsible for managing multiple survey projects, mentoring staff, supporting client relationships, and contributing to the growth and development of the survey practice. This role works closely with project teams, clients, and leadership to deliver high-quality surveying services while maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Requirements

8+ years of surveying experience with progressively increasing responsibility
Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required
Strong knowledge of surveying principles, practices, and industry standards
Experience managing survey projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships
Proficient in CAD software, especially Autodesk Civil 3D
Experience with construction staking, boundary analysis, mapping, and legal descriptions
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Lead and initiate special projects as needed
May require flexible hours
Travel between BKF offices and other off-site locations may be required
Minimum of 3 days in office required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred

Responsibilities

Manage survey projects from proposal through final deliverables
Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and resource allocation
Lead and mentor survey staff, providing technical guidance and professional development
Review and approve survey deliverables including boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, plats, and legal descriptions
Coordinate field and office survey activities to ensure project objectives and quality standards are achieved
Develop and maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts
Prepare project scopes, fee estimates, and proposals
Identify opportunities for additional services and new projects
Ensure compliance with applicable surveying standards, regulations, and company procedures
Travel to various job sites and offices may be required
