About The Position

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team in our Raleigh, NC office. This position will assist Registered Professional Surveyors by performing field work as a one-person crew or leading a two-person crew, as well as providing office support for project preparation, processing, and drafting.

Requirements

• Ability to work as a one-person crew or lead a two-person crew in the performance of ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
• Ability to interpret civil and architectural design drawings to assist with construction staking.
• Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• 5+ years of field experience with ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with other design services.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment that is in a growth mode.

Nice To Haves

• An associate degree in surveying, Engineering Technology, or related area of study.
• CST certification, North Carolina LSIT Certification.
• Ability to operate AutoCAD, Carlson and Trimble Business Center for production activities.
• Full use of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with processing field data and drafting for ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, and topographic surveys.
• Experience with preparing calculations from civil and architectural plans for construction staking.

Responsibilities

• Perform field work as a one-person crew or leading a two-person crew.
• Provide office support for project preparation, processing, and drafting.
• Perform ALTA surveys, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking.
• Interpret civil and architectural design drawings to assist with construction staking.
• Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal description, and computing survey points.
• Perform QA/QC checks.
• Coordinate and work with field crews and other office staff.
• Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
