About The Position

Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA, as-builts, easements, and subdivision surveys for public and private clients. Operate and maintain various surveying instruments – such as GNSS receivers and robotic total stations - to measure and verify elevations, angles, and distances. Clean, check and adjust survey instruments and equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements. Maintain a high standard of accuracy and productivity in all survey work. Oversee surveying activities in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of one year of survey instrument operation is required.
  • Valid NC Driver's license required with good driving record and ability to drive.
  • Practical knowledge of survey methods and procedures.
  • Ability to utilize or employ GPS, RTK, VRS, and robotic total station equipment.
  • Ability to interpret maps
  • Detail oriented with good communication skills
  • Physically able to walk rough terrain, stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform field work in various weather conditions.

  • Occasional regional travel (approximately 20%) including some overnight stays
