About The Position

Michael Baker International is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Survey Technician to join its Survey Team in South Carolina. The role supports a variety of land surveying projects and combines outdoor fieldwork with office tasks, working alongside an experienced team in a collaborative environment. The technician collects survey data, researches property records, assists with survey layout and measurements, and supports project teams in delivering quality work. Travel to project sites and regular local travel are required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license.
One or more years of related surveying experience.
Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
Ability and willingness to travel and work locally on a regular basis.
Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with survey equipment and software.

Responsibilities

Conduct fieldwork in accordance with project requirements and established survey procedures.
Collect survey data and assist with survey layout and measurements.
Research survey evidence, including deeds, plats, maps, physical monuments, and public records.
Assist with establishing and reestablishing survey control using accepted surveying methods.
Maintain accurate field notes and documentation of work performed.
Support survey crews and project teams to ensure quality project delivery.
Travel to project sites as needed and work locally on a regular basis.
Collaborate with team members while adhering to safety and quality standards.
