About The Position

Merrick & Company is seeking a career- and quality-minded Survey Technician II for challenging land surveying projects, including boundary, GPS, photogrammetry, easement/right-of-way, ALTA, topographic, and as-built surveys. The position works under the direct supervision of a Land Surveyor in the company’s Chamblee, Georgia office. The Survey Technician II uses AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare survey plats, topographical and contour maps, legal descriptions, and exhibits, and works with HDS point clouds. The role also includes survey research and calculations, collaboration with other technical disciplines, meeting schedules and budgets, and working independently.

Requirements

2–4 years of office-based land surveying experience.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
High school diploma or GED.
Local candidates only.
Valid driver's license, good driving record, and eligibility for coverage under Merrick’s insurance carrier.
Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Ability to do survey-related research.
Associate or technical two-year degree.

Responsibilities

Work in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Draft monumented land survey plats.
Draft topographical and contour maps.
Work with HDS point clouds.
Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits.
Problem solve and collaborate with other technical disciplines.
Perform survey-related research and calculations to create final survey deliverables.
