The company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Survey Project Manager to oversee and manage all aspects of land surveying projects, ensuring timely completion, adherence to budget, and high-quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication with clients, contractors, field teams, and office staff. The position is temporarily remote but requires being located within a commutable distance from Fort Myers for in-person collaboration and project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in a project management role.
  • Strong knowledge of surveying methods, equipment, and software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS, total stations).
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project resources effectively.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS applications).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites, if needed.
  • Adherence to Illinois Department of Labor regulations and federal employment laws, including non-discrimination policies.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Trimble Business Center (TBC).
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee multiple land surveying projects from initiation to completion.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with survey field crews and office staff to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
  • Prepare project proposals, budgets, and schedules.
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of survey data, plats, and reports.
  • Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support to field teams.
  • Monitor project progress and address any challenges or delays promptly.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
