About The Position

The Survey Project Manager oversees land surveying projects from initiation through completion. This role leads project teams across one or more business units; coordinates field crews; manages schedules, budgets, and deliverables; ensures the accuracy of survey data; conducts research; and maintains compliance with industry standards and local regulations.

Requirements

  • A degree in Survey Engineering Technology, Land Survey Technology, civil technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) or more years of experience leading and delivering surveying projects is required.
  • A Licensed/Professional Land Surveyor (LLS/PLS/PS) license is required in the applicable state.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret survey-related documents, manuals, specifications, safety procedures, and SOPs.
  • Strong algebra, geometry, survey calculation, accuracy/error-checking, and numerical data review skills tied to deliverables, budgets, schedules, and project decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing timely updates and addressing questions or concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and manage proposals, project scopes, work plans, schedules, staffing assignments, budgets, quality-control reviews, reports, and project documentation.
  • Train and mentor junior staff while supporting compliance with ethical standards, industry requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, manage survey teams, and ensure survey activities follow established protocols and timelines.
  • Develop and implement survey methodologies; analyze survey data; and present findings, recommendations, and project updates to management.
  • Conduct field surveys safely and professionally in a variety of weather and site conditions.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
