PrimECS is seeking a Survey Party Chief with experience in heavy civil construction to lead field survey operations on landmark infrastructure projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. Requirements

5+ years of heavy civil construction survey experience.
Proven ability to lead a survey crew independently.
Strong knowledge of construction layout, survey control, elevations, coordinate systems, and field calculations.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Passion for mentoring and developing future survey professionals.

Nice To Haves

Experience with bridge, highway, rail, utility, marine, airport, or tunnel construction.
Civil 3D or survey data preparation experience.
Experience with modern heavy civil surveying technologies, including GNSS / RTK GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Machine Control, UAV / Drone Workflows, Survey Data Processing, Civil 3D, Carlson, Trimble Business Center (TBC), Trimble Access, Leica Captivate, Leica, Trimble, or Topcon/Sokkia survey systems.

Responsibilities

Lead all field survey and construction layout activities.
Perform precise layout for utilities, grading, structures, concrete, and transportation infrastructure.
Operate robotic total stations, GNSS/GPS systems, and electronic data collectors independently.
Review plans, models, coordinate files, and stakeout packages before construction begins.
Direct Survey Instrument Operators and Survey Technicians.
Coordinate daily with Superintendents, Foremen, Engineers, and Project Managers.
Perform and document as-built surveys.
Identify and resolve layout conflicts before they impact construction.
Maintain accurate field records and QA/QC documentation.
Help ensure projects are delivered safely, accurately, and efficiently.
