About The Position

As a Survey Intern at ICE, you will gain valuable industry experience by working with our Survey team. Internships with ICE allow you to continue your education with a real-world experience that will enhance your future academic experiences. There is room for growth within our organization for dedicated civil engineering professionals. All employment offers are contingent upon the applicant successfully completing drug and background screenings. Internships provide an opportunity to be part of a diverse and engaged community of professionals and to be treated as a respected and valued member of the ICE team. The internship will span 12 weeks.

Nice To Haves

• Pursuing a BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Junior or Senior desired.
• Academic Juniors and Seniors preferred.
• Prior internship experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the performance of boundary, topographic, right-of-way, transportation, and road and bridge construction surveys.
• Operate various surveying equipment including total station, levels, GPS, and data collectors.
• Make arithmetic and geometric calculations, (i.e. percentages, ratio, averages), performs inspection and maintenance of surveying equipment.
• Ability to work (1) in all types of weather, (2) adjacent to vehicular traffic, (3) on all types of terrain, and (4) on steel beams over water.
• Work in a team-oriented manner with General Contractors, Subcontractors, public, and the SCDOT.
