We are seeking a dependable and motivated Survey Instrument Person to support our survey field crews in collecting accurate data for a variety of land development and infrastructure projects in Mandeville, LA. This position works under the direction of the Survey Crew Chief and plays a key role in daily field operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable working outdoors in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a high school diploma/GED
  • 0–2 years of experience in surveying preferred
  • Basic understanding of surveying principles
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
  • Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a satisfactory driving record

Responsibilities

  • Support efficient project completion by assisting the Survey Crew Chief with daily field operations and data collection
  • Operate and help maintain survey equipment, including total stations, GPS units, and data collectors
  • Set up and break down survey instruments to ensure proper calibration
  • Collect and record field data accurately and efficiently
  • Mark points, stake locations, and assist with construction layout activities
  • Maintain clear and organized field notes and documentation
  • Transport equipment and materials to and from job sites
  • Adhere to company safety policies and field procedures
