The survey field service technician collects field data utilizing common surveying equipment. The role involves setting up, adjusting, and operating surveying equipment and instruments to collect field data, reporting data back to surveyors and other Wightman professionals. Responsibilities include measuring, recording, and calculating data based on instrument readings, as well as laying out, locating, and recovering markings, stakes, and other signifiers at work locations. The technician will also assist in creating drawings and computer images of job locations, maintaining equipment and vehicles, and conducting surveys to determine the location of natural features and man-made structures. Additionally, the role requires collecting information for new surveys using various sources and performing manual labor such as bending, digging, cutting brush, and carrying equipment.
