About The Position

The survey drafter is responsible for working with Surveyors to develop 2D and 3D drawings as well as other documents (including but not limited to AutoCAD & Civil 3D) for client projects. This role involves creating drawings for survey-related projects, obtaining and assembling data to complete survey drawings, drawing topographical maps, and preparing easement drawings and legal descriptions. The drafter will also draw land title surveys to meet ALTA/NSPS standard detail requirements, convert drawing formats to be compatible with engineering and client requirements, and read and understand deeds and related legal documents. Additionally, the position requires creating and storing drawings electronically, independently researching project-specific information, determining procedures and instructions according to survey specifications, observing and obtaining information from relevant sources, operating computer-aided drafting equipment, and managing billable time to hit target utilization.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Civil 3D, Carlson drafting and detailing
  • Advanced AutoCAD skills
  • Prior experience in survey drafting
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Highly motivated and team oriented
  • Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
  • Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work
  • Knowledge of standard Drafting concepts
  • Possesses leadership and mentorship skills
  • Has strong organizational skills
