About The Position

Build and automate the data workflows that power Gallup’s survey research. As a survey data operations analyst at Gallup, you’ll transform complex survey and operational data into reliable, scalable datasets that power world-class research. In this role, you will build and support automated data pipelines, strengthen data quality processes, and help internal teams spend less time cleaning data and more time generating insights that change the world.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, data analytics, mathematics, statistics, business, social science, market research or a related field required
  • Experience with Python, SQL and Excel required
  • A commitment to working on-site at Gallup’s Omaha office at least three days per week required
  • Must currently reside within a 250-mile radius of Omaha, Nebraska
  • Eligibility to work in the United States required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with R, APIs, Linux or command-line environments preferred
  • Experience building automated or repeatable data processes preferred
  • Experience working with structured data files or databases preferred
  • Exposure to survey or research data environments and interest in learning about survey research and data operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Build and support data pipelines that ingest raw sample files, vendor files, API data and operational data and transform them into clean outputs for analysis and reporting
  • Organize respondent, project, survey, client and operational data into consistent and reusable datasets
  • Develop and maintain databases containing panelist, respondent and operational data
  • Validate data quality by checking completeness, accuracy, formatting and consistency and troubleshooting missing data, duplicates, file issues and schema changes
  • Ensure secure handling of sensitive and personally identifiable information
  • Automate manual and repetitive tasks by creating reusable scripts, templates, validation checks and scheduled jobs
  • Support workflows that move survey data into structured folders and reporting environments
  • Collaborate with analysts, methodologists, survey programmers, project managers, QA partners and other internal teams to translate business and research requirements into practical data solutions
  • Learn and apply survey data operations concepts including how sample, fielding and response data move through Gallup’s research processes
