About The Position

Rick Engineering is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Survey Crew Chief to lead a survey crew performing surveying tasks for civil engineering design, private, and construction projects. The role involves ensuring accurate data collection, conducting different types of surveys, and maintaining high quality standards. The position is primarily based at the company’s Arvada, Colorado office, with work performed at various project sites.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five years of experience in land surveying, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
• Proficiency with total stations, GPS equipment, and data collectors.
• Strong understanding of survey principles and practices.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions, survey notes, maps, and construction plans.
• Ability and willingness to travel to various project sites.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of and compliance with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; bend, twist, squat, lift, and move objects across various terrains; stand for extended periods; and perform repetitive tasks.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in surveying or a related field.
• Land Survey Intern (LSI) certification.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and other surveying software.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal surveying regulations.
