About The Position

A Civil Construction Survey Party Chief is responsible for leading and managing a survey crew on construction projects, ensuring accurate data collection and layout for construction activities. This role involves supervising the crew, operating survey equipment, interpreting plans, and maintaining documentation. They ensure that all survey work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements and specifications.

Responsibilities

Directs and manages a survey crew, ensuring they are working safely and efficiently.
Performs various types of surveys, including topographic, boundary, and construction layout, using instruments like GPS and total stations.
Reads and interprets construction plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to guide survey activities.
Maintains accurate records of survey data, prepares reports, and communicates findings to project managers and other stakeholders.
Ensures the accuracy and reliability of all survey work, adhering to quality control standards.
Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of survey equipment.
Ensures adherence to all safety regulations and procedures during survey operations.
Collaborates with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure alignment with project goals.
Troubleshoots and resolves any survey-related issues that arise during the project.
May train and mentor junior survey crew members.
Interacts with clients and other stakeholders as a representative of the company.
