About The Position

A Survey Crew Chief is responsible for the operation of a field survey crew. This role involves organizing field work, directing crew members, maintaining a safe work environment, protecting and maintaining equipment and vehicles, accurately and efficiently collecting field data and locating features, delivering data to the office, and maintaining accurate records of work and expenses.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
3 years progressive experience in survey field operations with no less than 1 year as a survey crew chief
Good technical skills: behavioral traits of process oriented, steady, helpful, analytical, problem solver, likes work alone when required, methodical, consistent, detail oriented, precise, hates mistakes, likes structure.
Proficiency with survey equipment (total stations, data collectors and GPS equipment).
Some overnight travel may be required.
Must have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.

Be responsible for the operation of a field survey crew.
Organize field work with these major objectives: quality (accuracy, thoroughness, clarity, meet regulatory requirements, public relations), safety, meeting schedules, meeting budgets, providing responsive service to clients.
Accurately and efficiently collect field data and locating features, deliver data to the office, maintain accurate records of work and expenses.
A lot of walking outside year-round through all kinds of terrain and in extreme heat and cold.
