About The Position

We are seeking a Survey Crew Chief with an innovative mindset, strong time management skills, organization, good work ethic, and someone ready to make an impact in the communities ETM serves. This role involves assisting in the setup and operation of surveying instruments, performing basic measurements and calculations, collecting and documenting survey data, and working collaboratively with other crew members. The position also requires assisting in the transportation and maintenance of equipment, following safety protocols, and actively learning and developing surveying skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Physical stamina and ability to carry and operate surveying equipment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

4+ years survey experience.
Basic knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.

Responsibilities

Assist in the setup and operation of surveying instruments, such as total stations, GPS receivers, and data collectors.
Perform basic measurements, readings, and calculations during field surveys.
Assist in the collection of survey data, including field notes, measurements, and observations.
Support the proper documentation and organization of survey data.
Work collaboratively with other crew members and under the guidance of senior crew members or surveyors.
Follow instructions and guidance from senior crew members or surveyors to complete assigned tasks.
Assist in the transportation and setup of surveying equipment in the field.
Provide general assistance to the survey crew as needed.
Assist in the maintenance and care of surveying instruments, equipment, and tools.
Follow proper procedures for the cleaning, storage, and transportation of equipment.
Report any equipment issues or needs to senior crew members or surveyors.
Assist in the proper documentation and organization of survey data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Assist in the transfer and integration of field data into surveying software or databases.
Collaborate with senior crew members or surveyors to resolve data discrepancies or issues.
Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for the survey crew.
Participate in safety briefings and training sessions to maintain a safe work practice.
Report any safety concerns or hazards to senior crew members or surveyors.
Actively learn and develop surveying skills and knowledge under the guidance of senior crew members or surveyors.
Seek opportunities to enhance understanding of surveying principles, techniques, and equipment.
Participate in training and development activities as directed.
