About The Position

The Surveillance Supervisor directs and supervises the overall operations of the surveillance department on an assigned shift. This role involves ensuring effective observation of all casino games and activities, maintaining adherence to policies and procedures, and safeguarding confidential information. The supervisor is responsible for training and guiding personnel, developing knowledge of cheating methods, and observing employee performance related to customer service and procedures. They also play a role in personnel recommendations, maintaining knowledge of property events, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
  • Ability to plan, assign and direct personnel in various aspects of surveillance procedures.
  • Knowledge of Blackjack rules and procedures and casino in-house rules and procedures.
  • Ability to operate and repair surveillance equipment.
  • Ability to read and write administrative reports.
  • Ability to create and adhere to a budget.
  • Ability to work with a variety of skilled and unskilled professional and administrative personnel.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be able to travel.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Six months to one year related experience.
  • Must have strong computer skills.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and supervises the overall operations of the surveillance department on an assigned shift.
  • Counsels, guides and instructs all operators on an assigned shift in the proper performance of their duties, maintaining adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Observes and assures that assigned shift personnel observe action on all Pit and slot games as well as activities in the soft count, hard counts coin room and all other areas in an effective manner.
  • Creates and submits a daily summary of activities occurred during a shift.
  • Remains alert for undesirables and reports their presence to the Surveillance Manager.
  • Develops a thorough knowledge of cheating methods, card-counting systems and conveys this knowledge to assigned personnel to assure effective observation in all areas.
  • Observes performance of employees in all areas relative to good customer relations, courtesy and service and adherence to department procedures.
  • Safeguards all confidential information and assures assigned personnel do not discuss the activities of the department with others.
  • Recommends changes on assigned shift, including hiring, promotion, demotion and termination of personnel, assist in preparation and administration of periodic performance appraisals and recommend wage changes for personnel within established limits.
  • Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  • Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
