About The Position

This job description outlines the responsibilities and requirements for a Senior Agent in the Surveillance department at Fitzgeralds Group. The role emphasizes guest service, teamwork, and productivity, with a focus on maintaining safety, security, and adherence to company policies and gaming regulations. The Senior Agent is responsible for monitoring all areas of the property, taking immediate action on critical situations, and ensuring the integrity of the department. This includes understanding and operating surveillance equipment, documenting activities, and assisting in the training of other agents.

Requirements

Must be able to obtain a Mississippi Gaming work permit.
High school degree, GED or equivalent.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
At least 3 years’ experience of casino, surveillance, law enforcement or a related profession.
Must be able to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with department team members, management level team members throughout the property and outside contacts of the department.
Must be able to work well in pressure situations and be self-motivated.
Must possess sound and mature judgment.
Above average organizational/planning skills.
Must be computer literate.

Responsibilities

Ensures the safety of guests and team members by observing all areas of the property.
Ensures immediate action is taken on any life-threatening, illegal, or extraordinary situation.
Constantly monitors all areas within camera view.
Proactively keeps up to date with any known cheats and prevents them from operating on the property.
Maintains a thorough understanding of Mississippi Gaming regulations and ensures adherence.
Knows and understands the procedures of other departments involved in handling company assets and property and ensures these procedures are adhered to.
Provides immediate notification to department leads and/or supervisors upon detection of any illegal activity.
Maintains a thorough understanding and working knowledge of company emergency action procedures.
Ensures all pertinent information is entered into the daily shift log with proper times, locations, and tape information.
Effectively and professionally follows up actions and activities with reports as necessary.
Completes all reports in a timely, accurate, and truthful manner.
Keeps the Director of Surveillance and department supervisors informed of all pertinent information regarding surveillance activities and any irregularities.
Oversees and at times, verifies large payouts by the casino.
Observes, detects, and reports any cheating activity.
Maintains a thorough understanding and working knowledge of all surveillance-related equipment in the monitor room.
Testifies in court as required.
Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
Maintains a professional presentation and attitude toward all departments' team members.
Ensures the integrity of the department is not compromised.
Performs tape reviews of any activity observed within the surveillance monitor room as requested and required.
Assists in the training of all agents to reach senior agent status.
Has a strong understanding of how to effectively run the surveillance monitor room at any time of the day.
At times when deemed necessary, supervises the activity of the monitor room in the absence of a lead or supervisor.
Possesses knowledge of the back-of-house areas and understands their basic job functions.
Possesses knowledge of basic technical skills, such as dubbing activity onto composite tapes, resetting alarms in the monitor room, changing VCRs properly, and adjusting time and dates on quads and multiplexors.
