About The Position

This position organizationally falls under the Kickapoo Gaming Commission of the Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma. Operational hours are seven (7) days per week hours, 24 hours daily including holidays; the selected incumbent will be assigned specific hours. The purpose of the Surveillance Operator position is to safeguard the assets of Kickapoo Casino by observing, monitoring and reporting on all gaming, non-gaming activities and any criminal activity. The Surveillance Operator will observe for possible violations of the Tribal Internal Control Standards (TICS), Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS), Kickapoo Tribe of Oklahoma Gaming Ordinance Violations, and the Oklahoma Tribal Compact.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires the ability to write clear and concise reports.
  • Requires basic knowledge of, but not limited to, casino pit games, slots, poker
  • Ability to work with computers is an asset
  • Must pass a background investigation to obtain a Kickapoo Gaming Commissions license
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
  • The ability to understand and follow posted work rules and procedures
  • Requires dependable attendance and ability to appear for work on time
  • Requires the ability to follow directions from a supervisor
  • Requires the ability to interact effectively with co-workers

  • Previous experience or knowledge in surveillance or gaming experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a closed-circuit surveillance system within the gaming facility.
  • Observes patrons and employees participating in gaming activities to detect infractions of house and policy rules and regulations.
  • Record irregularities through detailed written reports.
  • Prepare daily activity report logs, incident reports and daily interdepartmental reports.
  • Adhere to gaming regulations and ensure gaming facility is following the Tribe’s gaming ordinances.
  • Observe and verify cash transactions; monitor live casino games reporting violations to the Director of Surveillance.
  • Monitor drops, hard soft count, and transfers of funds/assets.
  • Calculate winnings to verify payment made by dealer.
  • Makes contact to team member(s) using telephone, or vice to identify and supply information about suspected violators.
  • The Surveillance Operator must possess the ability to pay attention to detail, analyze problems, communicate well with others and perform at the highest level under stressful situations.
  • Testify in criminal and civil courts; gather and maintain recorded evidence.
  • Ensures and oversees the smooth flow of their shift.
  • Lead monitor will service and test Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) system on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintain confidentiality due to the sensitivity of the monitor room.
  • The incumbent must be flexible in order to undertake a variety of miscellaneous duties as assigned by the supervisor or team leader.
