About The Position

The Surveillance Operator observes casino activities and protects property assets. This role involves monitoring various areas of the casino, including Pit, Slot, Soft Count, Hard Count, Vault, and cages. The operator is responsible for observing employee performance in relation to guest relations and policy adherence, reporting any abnormal activity, and maintaining a daily written account of shift activities. A key aspect of the role is identifying and reporting undesirables, cheaters, accidents, illnesses, or safety hazards. The Surveillance Operator must safeguard confidential information, stay knowledgeable about procedures, policies, card counting systems, cheating methods, and property events. They are also expected to maintain confidentiality, be sensitive to Native American Culture, and operate within the parameters of Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual, Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and other applicable regulations to secure the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.

Requirements

  • Able to work flexible hours, shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Able to operate a keyboard
  • Ability to read and write reports
  • Knowledge of Blackjack rules and procedures and casino in-house rules and procedures
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • High level of integrity and honesty.
  • Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.

  • Ability to operate and repair surveillance equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Observes the action of all Pit, Slot and other areas as assigned: Soft Count, Hard Count, Vault and cages.
  • Observes performance of employees in regard to guest relations and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Reports immediately any abnormal activity that requires prompt action to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Maintains a daily written account of any and all activities occurring during a shift.
  • Remains alert to any undesirables or cheaters in the Casino and reports their presence to the Shift Supervisor.
  • Reports any accident, illness or safety hazard observed to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
  • Safeguards all confidential information and does not discuss any activities with other employees.
  • Strives to maintain a complete knowledge of procedures and policies.
  • Develops basic knowledge of card counting systems and familiarizes self with other methods of cheating.
  • Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  • Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  • Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
