About The Position

Allied Universal® is hiring a Surveillance Investigator to conduct discreet mobile and stationary surveillance of claimants, confirming their current activities and capabilities to support insurance claim administration. The role involves independent investigations across multiple insurance coverage types, use of surveillance techniques and equipment, and clear documentation of observations. A Private Investigator’s license is required before applying, along with a valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience.

Requirements

Private Investigator’s license required prior to applying.
Valid driver’s license and at least one year of driving experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Successfully complete Allied Universal Investigations’ training/orientation course after receiving an offer.
At least one year of verifiable work experience, preferably in investigations or another protective service-related field.
Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours and days, including weekends and holidays.
Ability to type reports in Microsoft Word with minimal grammatical and punctuation errors.
Proficiency with laptop computers, video cameras, and cell phones.
Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
Ability to manage stressful situations with composure and professionalism.
Ability to work independently.

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or higher, preferably in Criminal Justice.
Security or loss prevention experience.
Military experience.
Law enforcement experience.
Prior insurance investigations experience.
Prior educational or professional incident reporting and/or investigations experience.

Responsibilities

Conduct independent investigations of insurance claims involving workers’ compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability.
Use surveillance techniques and equipment to monitor subjects covertly.
Document and report observations, activities, and relevant information clearly and concisely.
Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement agencies as needed to gather information and coordinate efforts.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with legal and ethical standards while conducting surveillance operations.
