About The Position

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Surveillance & Command and Control (C2) Operations Specialist in Elkridge, Maryland for a one-year onsite contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This position will provide subject-matter expertise supporting training, analysis, and operational integration for advanced air and maritime surveillance systems. The specialist will apply hands-on military operational experience to the development and maintenance of recognized air and surface pictures using sensors, tactical data links, communications systems, and multi-domain information.

Requirements

  • Prior military service with the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, or comparable NATO military organization.
  • Direct operational experience with surface and/or air surveillance.
  • Experience detecting, identifying, tracking, and managing air and/or surface contacts.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, or contributing to a Common Operational Picture (COP), Recognized Air Picture (RAP), and/or Recognized Maritime Picture.
  • Hands-on Command and Control (C2) operations experience.
  • Experience integrating sensor information, voice communications, data communications, and tactical data links.
  • Familiarity with Automatic Identification System (AIS), marine radar systems, and maritime safety operations.
  • Familiarity with Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B).
  • Familiarity with radio direction finding.
  • Familiarity with Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT).
  • Strong situational awareness across air and/or maritime operational domains.
  • Ability to translate real-world operational knowledge into training, analysis, or program support.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

  • Military instructor experience at a recognized service schoolhouse or training center.
  • Navy Operations Specialist (OS) experience.
  • Coast Guard maritime surveillance or operations-center experience.
  • Air Force Command and Control, air surveillance, weapons, or battle-management experience.

  • Joint, NATO, or multi-domain operational experience.
  • Experience supporting training development or execution.
  • Experience with operational simulation.
  • Experience performing surveillance or C2 operational analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational subject-matter expertise for air and maritime surveillance systems.
  • Support development and execution of operator training.
  • Apply real-world military surveillance and C2 experience to system and program activities.
  • Support development and maintenance of recognized air and surface operating pictures.
  • Analyze information from radar, surveillance sensors, tactical data links, and communications systems.
  • Support integration of multiple sensor and communication inputs into a unified operational picture.
  • Provide expertise on identification, tracking, classification, and management of air and maritime contacts.
  • Support training scenarios, simulations, and operational-analysis activities.
  • Work with engineering, training, and program teams to ensure system capabilities reflect operational requirements.
  • Translate military operational concepts, workflows, and tactics into actionable technical and training guidance.
  • Provide insight into real-world command-center and tactical-operations environments.
