Requirements
- A degree related to construction and 6 to 8 years of construction experience, or an equivalent mix of technical training and hands-on work experience on large commercial projects (P3, residential, commercial, institutional, mission-critical, retail, public transit, or healthcare).
- Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety rules, scheduling, cost control, quality control, and technical drawings.
- Ability to quickly identify problematic situations, assess alternative causes, come up with viable solutions, and lead a large team to success.
- Enjoy working in a team environment and providing guidance and advice to the site team.
- Bilingual (French and English, both oral and written)
- Eligible for a "Secret" security clearance from the Government of Canada.
Responsibilities
- Manage the overall construction process, including design, budget, and schedule, working with the project manager, owners, engineers, and architects to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget for large, complex projects.
- Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to track and support the team's ongoing progress.
- Ensure construction complies with design requirements and the project construction schedule by supervising and coordinating trades on site, other site managers, field engineering, and construction activities.
- Implement the EllisDon safety program to create and maintain a safe work environment on site and adhere to safety and record-keeping requirements.
- Guide the project team members to support the growth and development of their careers.
