This role supports the Main Operating Room at Baptist Medical Center Clay, working as part of the surgical services and operating room teams. The Surgical Technologist will assist the surgical team during surgeries, ensure a sterile environment, hand instruments to surgeons, and maintain patient safety. Responsibilities also include cleaning and restocking the operating room between procedures. Precision, attention to detail, and teamwork are essential for providing quality patient care.
Requirements
- Less than 1 year Surgical Technologist Experience
- Vocational School or Associates Degree Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Responsibilities
- Assembling, organizing and maintaining a sterile field for operative procedures
- Anticipates the needs of the surgeon and progression of the case and prepare accordingly
- Proper disposition of specimens and instruments
- Works with entire surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
- Assist the surgical team during surgeries
- Ensure a sterile environment
- Hand instruments to surgeons during procedures
- Maintain patient safety
- Clean and restock the operating room between surgeries
