About The Position

Eskenazi Health is a Level 1 trauma center with multiple service lines, offering exposure to various surgical specialties including orthopedics, plastics, thoracics, neurosurgery, ortho/spine, gender affirmation surgeries, laparoscopic surgery, general surgery, and trauma. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) is a vital member of the operating room team, responsible for handling instruments, supplies, and equipment, anticipating surgeon's needs, ensuring quality patient care during surgery, and maintaining the sterile field. This role is crucial for ensuring safe, efficient, and successful surgical procedures and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current CST certification through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or completed a military surgical technology program.
  • Military trained individuals must obtain CST certification through NBSTSA within three months of their start date.
  • New graduates must obtain CST certification within 45 days of their start date.
  • Must complete 60 hours of approved continuing education in a 4-year timeframe with 15 CEUs turned into education every year.
  • Current BLS certification.
