About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to serve in the operating room at St. Mary's Medical Center, located in Duluth, Minnesota. This surgical technologist works 36 hours weekly. Shifts are 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, and 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. One weekend and four night shifts are required on a four-week rotating schedule. A holiday rotation is also required. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
  • AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification is required within 1 month of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Functions under the supervision of an RN in providing technical interventions in the Operating Room to patients of all ages.
  • Responsible for tasks relating to instrumentation, equipment, prosthesis, and supplies.
  • May perform other duties as assigned by the department.
