Surgical Technologist Float Pool
About The Position
The Surgical Technologist in the float pool will travel to various West Michigan Corewell Health facilities, including Grand Rapids hospitals and surgery centers, Big Rapids, Pennock, Zeeland, Luddington, and Greenville. The candidate must be willing to travel to all regions. This role involves preparing the surgical suite, handling instruments during surgery, maintaining the sterile field, and responding to changing conditions during procedures. The Surgical Technologist is responsible for staying knowledgeable about surgical procedures and principles and may serve as a Preceptor.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in Surgical Technology OR successful completion of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology.
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Travel to various Corewell Health West locations as needed.
- Prepare the surgical suite.
- Handle instruments intraoperatively.
- Maintain the sterile field.
- Evaluate and respond to changing conditions during surgical procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of surgical procedures and principles.
- May serve as a Preceptor.
