About The Position

El Paso Day Surgery is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join their team. This role involves scrubbing for surgical procedures, maintaining a sterile field, and preparing necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment. The Surgical Technologist will function as a key member of the surgical team, supporting the center's philosophy, objectives, and goals, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. The position operates on weekdays only, with no holidays, weekends, or on-call duties, though some early mornings and later evenings may be required depending on the surgical schedule.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification as required by state and/or center
• Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
• Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Screbs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team.
• Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to surgical procedures.
• Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center.
• Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.
