Hiring for Surgical Technologist in Peoria, IL
About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support a busy surgical services team. The ideal candidate will have strong general surgery experience and be fully independent with robotic procedures. This is a direct hire position with 8-hour day shifts. The role involves supporting a department with 29 operating suites, 14 of which are dedicated to General Surgery, handling approximately 20-40 General Surgery cases per day. The position requires flexibility to float to other surgical teams or SPD when qualified and utilizes the Epic OP Time EMR system. Support from OR Tech and Charge Nurse is available.
Requirements
- 2+ years of hospital surgical experience required
- Graduate of a Surgical Technology program
- Current BLS certification
- Experience in General Surgery
- Experience in Urology
- Experience in Gynecology
- Experience in ENT
- Independent experience with Da Vinci robotic surgery required
- Strong scrubbing skills required
- Level I Trauma experience required for Mid/Evening/Night shifts
- Candidates with 1.5+ years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered

Responsibilities
- Scrubbing for various surgical procedures
- Assisting surgeons during operations
- Preparing and maintaining the operating room environment
- Ensuring all necessary surgical instruments and equipment are available and sterile
- Adhering to sterile techniques and infection control protocols
- Floating to other surgical teams or SPD when qualified
- Participating in rotating call and holiday coverage
- Responding to calls within a 30-minute timeframe

- Sign-On Bonus: $15,000 with 2-year commitment
- Weekend Differential: +$2.50/hr
